Sanitation Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION

Purpose

The Sanitation/Facilities Technician performs a variety of cleaning maintenance ,repair tasks to ensure the proper functioning and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and related systems. This is an entry-level position that works under the guidance of supervisors,

Shift Schedule: 07:00 a.m. - 03:30 p.m.

Pay: $19.50/hr

Responsibilities

• Conduct deep cleaning procedures by following the Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures written by the Food Safety Program Technologist.
• Maintain grounds, including landscaping, snow removal, and trash removal.
• Perform basic repairs to building structures, such as walls, floors, ceilings, doors, and windows.
• Operate and maintain basic hand and power tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• Check and replenish supplies in break rooms, lunchrooms, washrooms, mops washroom, first aid room weekly.
• Follow safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
• Assist with cleaning underneath the dock plates when scheduled.
• Respond to maintenance requests and address issues promptly and efficiently.
• Assist with setting up and tearing down for events or meetings.
• Handle sanitation chemicals in accordance with proper safety procedures.

• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Basic troubleshooting skills.
• Be able to work in freezer and coolers for long periods of time.
• Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Physical stamina and ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
• Basic computer skills may be required.
• Required to work in outdoor work environments with varying temperatures.
