About Degreeless Jobs
One job: show which jobs actually pay well without a college degree, and which employers are hiring for them right now, with the requirement sentence quoted from the posting.
Effective Sep 7, 2026
Why this exists
About six in ten American adults do not have a bachelor’s degree. Most job sites treat that as a filter problem and leave the “degree required” line buried in the posting, so people apply, hear nothing, and conclude they are stuck. BLS counts 541 occupations whose typical entry education is below a bachelor’s degree, and many of them pay more than the median for all workers. The information is public. It is just scattered across government tables, state licensing boards, and thousands of employer career sites.
We put it in one place and cite every number.
What we publish
- Career pages. For each occupation: median and percentile pay from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the typical entry education, the share of current workers without a bachelor’s degree, and how people get in: the licence, apprenticeship, exam, or short program that leads to the job, what it costs, and how long it takes. Hand-written by our research desk, with the numbers generated directly from the government data files. See the methodology.
- Data pages. Rankings such as the highest-paying occupations without a bachelor’s degree and the occupations that clear $30 an hour in each state.
- Job listings. Openings collected from employers’ own applicant systems, each labeled by what the posting says about education, with the sentence quoted and the date we last checked it. We never list a job that requires a degree, charges a fee, or pays commission only.
Who runs it
Degreeless Jobs is published by Kylen Rushbrook, a sole proprietor in Onarga, Illinois. It is independent: not affiliated with any employer, school, staffing agency, or government body, and not owned by a jobs marketplace. Pages are written by our research desk, which uses software to build every figure from the source files and AI tools to help draft and edit text, with a person reviewing each page before it goes live. Our editorial policy spells out how that works and how to get a correction.
How we make money
Three ways, each labeled where it appears: commissions when a reader enrolls in a course or exam-prep program through a link on a career page, fees from employers who pay to feature a listing that already meets our rules, and sponsorships in our weekly email. None of it changes a pay figure, a label, or a recommendation. Details are in the advertising disclosure.
